Scans 001Elizabeth M. Jackmon, 79, of Columbia, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 at South Hampton PLace. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 29, 2010,  at Log  Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 pm Friday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.

She was born October 25, 1930 the daughter of Elvin and Emma Bass.

She is survived by one son Irvin Butch Whittler, one daughter Robin Butler, three brothers Joe Bass, Norman Sallee and Percy Sallee, four sisters Charlotte Tilford, Lucille Day, Clementine Kennedy and Judy Murray, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, two brothers, three sisters and one grandson. She loved her South Hampton family and friends. Thank you for your loving care of our loved one.

Barbara Joyce “Bobbie” Gaines

Barbara J.  Gaines, 73, died peacefully in her home in Fayette, MO on January 23, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Linn Memorial United Methodist Church in Fayette, burial will be in the Fayette City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Fayette.

 Barbara was born August 14, 1936 to the late Will and Mary Bly Gaines.  She was born and raised in Fayette, MO and graduated from Sumner High School, in Boonville, MO.  Barbara spent her life educating children at Headstart for over 30 years.

 She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, and life companion; Robert Cooper.

Survivors include seven sons: Anthony, Rodney, Ricky (Sheryl), and Kevin Gaines all of Columbia, MO; Robert and Richard Gaines both of Fayette, MO; and Jimmy (Phyllis) Gaines of Moberly, MO.   Six daughters: Debbie (Randy) Bynum of Kansas City, MO; Pamela Eubanks, Tina Gaines, Valerie (Tim) Gaines, Carol Gaines, and Elizabeth Crump all of Fayette, MO; also Vie (Ronnie) McQuitty of Fayette, MO who was like a daughter to her.

 Surviving siblings include two sisters: Mabel Taylor of Detroit, MI; Nadine (John) Bynum of Kansas City, MO; and one brother Richard (RC) Gaines of Fayette, MO.

Barbara is also survived by 30 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 Barbara’s family would like to pay special tribute to Nancy Jones, a great family friend.

Lois Jean Wolfe Price

scan0005Lois Jean Wolfe Price, 67, of Manchester, Maryland, died Saturday, January
23, 2010 at Longview Nursing Home in Maryland. Visitation will be
Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 11-1 PM at H.T. May & Son Funeral Home in Boonville.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home after the
visitation at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Lewis Odneal officiating.   Interment
will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Jean was born on July 4th, 1942, the daughter of Ruth Windsor Wolfe and
Lewis E. Wolfe.  Jean was a member of First Baptist Church of Boonville
and graduated from Boonville High School.  Jean was formerly married to
the late Fred Price.  She obtained a bachelor’s degree in speech therapy
and a master’s degree in educational administration.  For most of her
career she worked in education at the high school and university level as
a teacher, administrator and associate dean.
Survivors include her mother Ruth Wolfe of Boonville, one daughter, Shanie
Nelson, with her husband Dan, of Baltimore, Maryland; one son Robert
Price, with his wife Cara, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and seven
grandchildren.  Also surviving are one sister, Karen Speicher of
Fayetteville, North Carolina; and two brothers, Terry Wolfe of Gravois
Mills, Missouri and Charlie Wolfe of Marquette, Michigan.  Jean was also preceded in death by
 her father Lewis Wolfe.
Memorials are suggested to the Longview Nursing Home 3332 Main Street,
Manchester Maryland, 21102.

Cheryl Lynn Young

scan0003Cheryl Lynn Young, 53, of Moberly died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at Family Life Fellowship in Moberly, Mo., burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo. Visitation will be held from 11:00 to 2 Pm Saturday at the church.

Cheryl Young was born June 20, 1956 in Davenport, IA., the daughter of  the late Elder William Cecil Williams and Mayme  Williams. She married John Allen Young on December 18, 1998 and he survives of the home. She was an employee of Moberly Public Schools.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband John Young of the home, her children Gechel Williams and Lorna Bolden of Moberly, Alfonso Bolden of Columbia,  step-children Sheantay Robinson of Jacksonville, Fl., and Caroline Elger of Wiesbaden, Germany, her mother Mayme Dean Williams of Moberly, four sisters Cecelia Williams-Ganaway of Columbia, Debbie Long of Paris, Mo., Renae Day of New Madrid, Mo., and Lorna Miles of Moberly, Mo., four brothers  Elder James Williams of Moberly,  Elder Gregory Williams of of Houston, TX., Willie Williams of Kansas City, Mo., and  Elder Brian Williams of Moberly, 9 grandchildren.

William Paul Frazier

William Paul Frazier, 55, of Jefferson City, died Friday, January 15, 2010 at Harry S Truman Veteran’s Hospital. There will be no funeral services.

William Paul Frazier was born October 24, 1954 in Chicago, IL, He was married to Donette Hemphill.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons Paul Frazier of Chicago, IL., and William Frazier of Jackson, MS., one daughter Tracey Frazier of Jackson, MS., his mother Gussie Frazier of Chicago, IL., one brother Ruben Frazier of Chicago, Il., four sisters Martha Glover, Frances Griffin and Carol Henderson all of Chicago and Derese Herndon of Jefferson CIty, Mo., and 9 grandchildren.

Mable Darlene Taylor Walton

Mable Darlene Walton, 66, of Columbia, died Friday, January 15, 2010 at her home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Russell Chapel C.M.E. Church with Rev. Karen Walker-McCLure officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.

 Mable Darlene Taylor Walton was born March 11, 1943 in Columbia, Mo., the daughter of John H. and Dorothy Clanton Taylor. She was a member of the Russell Chapel C.M.E. Church where she was the pianist for many years. She was the first African-American Teller at the Westport Bank in Kansas City, Mo. She was awarded the Good Samaritan Award at the Gatehouse Apartment Complex in Columbia.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son Nyles Walton Jr. of Phoenix, AZ., five sisters Nadine Logan of Irving, TX., Dorothy Robinson and Maxine Nelson both of Columbia, Mo.,  and Rowene Montgomery and Sylvia I. Williams both of Atlanta, GA., and one grandchild.

Doncella Daniel was born September 14, 1955 in Columbia, the daughter of Barbara Doxley and step-daughter of Larney Parham.

Survivors include her Mother Barbara Doxley of Columbia her step-father Larney Parham of COlumbia, one son William Brown of Columbia, two daughters Charmaine Brown of Columbia and Michelle Oquendo of Allentown, PA., three brothers Lorenzo Doxley and Randy Doxley both of Houston,TX., and Ronald Thrower of Aurora, Co., seven sisters Darlene Mathis and Vickie Doxley both of St. Louis, Mo., Charlene Jones of Houston, Tx., Deloris Coats of Columbia, Linda Clay of Staten Island, NY., Martha Doxley of Tulsa, Ok., and Renee Thrower Smith of Aurora, Co., eleven grandchildren Kalil Brown, Shanice Truss, Malaysha Kelly, Ashaunti Oquendo, Luis Oquendo, Kimaya Oquendo, Dominic Thomas, Doarle Hill, Trenay Brown, William Brown Jr., and Asia Brown.

She was preceded in death by one brother Robert Doxley and her grandmother Stella Ruth Doxley.

Izayah Brown was born October 10, 1986 in Columbia , the son of Guy Jones and Donna Brown.

He attended Jefferson Junior High and Rock Bridge High School.

He leaves to mourn his passing; his parents Donna Brown of Moberly, Mo., and Guy Jones of Columbia, Mo., one sister Michayah Brown and one brother Wesley Brown both of Columbia, Mo., his grandmother Floris Gillyard Lymore(John) of St. Louis, Mo., his grandfather Wesley Brown of St. Louis, Mo., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Anna Sue Cross

Anna Sue Cross, 61, of Boonville, died Wednesday at Lakeview Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville, Mo. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Saturday at the funeral home.

Anna was born February 12, 1948 in Bunceton, the daughter of Roger R. and Edith Stewart Williams.

Survivors include six sisters Emma ALford of Temple, Tx., Terry Williams of St. Louis, Mo., Edna Butler of Nelson, Mo., , Mozelle Ballenger of Columbia, Mo., and Pam Taylor and Marnetta Vaughn both of Boonville.

Dorris Perry

Dorris Perry, of Columbia died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Columbia Health Care Center.  There will be no funeral services at this time.

Doris Perry was born February 14, 1941 in Sweet Srpings, Mo, the daughter of Clarence And Gladys Wheeler.

Survivors includefour sons Robert Thornton of Columbia, Ronald Thornton and Charles Thornton both of Jefferson City, Mo., and William Thornton of Sedalia, Mo., and one daughter Wanda Cason, two brothers Virgil Wheeler of Jefferson City, Mo., and Eugene Wheeler of Norfolk,Va., 8 grandchildren, and one great-grandchildren.

She was a member Step of Faith Church of God in Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
