Georgia Smith, 88, of Columbia, surrendered her soul to Christ on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Boone Hospital Center. Homegoing services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 1, 2010 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia, with Bishop Lester Woods officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Saturday at the funeral home.
Georgia Smith was born October 9, 1921 in Brookhaven , Ms. the daughter of George Tillman and Victoria Williams. She a member of Urban Empowerment Church, a past Church mother of St. Mark’s Baptist Church in Harvey, Il., and a past member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church as well as a member of the Vernell Circle.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Larry Tillman of Glenwood, Il. and Jerry Bryant of Brookhaven, Ms., two daughters Anna Harris of Columbia, Mo., and Peggy Thompson of Dalton, Il., one sister LaPearl Goosby of Chicago, Il, and a host of grandchildren.

Thomas McQuitty, 52, of Columbia, transitioned from this life to the next on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Columbia. Homegoing services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fayette, with Rev. Michael Jackman officiating. Burial will be in the Gold Dust Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Fayette .
Thomas McQuitty was born September 20, 1957 in Faytte, Mo., the son of Thomas Mitchell and Ethelene McQuitty. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was employed at the University of Missouri for over thirty years.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Sheridan McQuitty of Columbia, one son Brandon Estes of Salisbury, Mo., two step-sons David Washington and Phillip Washington, both of Columbia, MO., and one step-daughter Melvonna Washington of Columbia, Mo. one sister Brenda Broadus of Columbia, seven brothers Thomas Simmons and Randy Bynum both of Columbia, Harold McQuitty of San Jose, CA., Stevie McQuitty of Huntsville, Mo., Leroy Broadus, Carl McQuitty and Ronnie McQuitty all of Fayette, one brother-in-law Carlos Nevels of Fayette and three grandchildren.

Cynthia L. Delph, age 59, formerly of Sedalia, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Home in Raytown, MO.
She was born October 12, 1950, a daughter of Jack and Helen ( Miller) Delph. Cindy attended school in Sedalia, Mo, graduating from Smith Cotton High School in 1968. She attended both SFCC and Missouri State University, Springfield, Mo, pursuing a theatre degree. She was a member of Burns Freewill Chapel in Sedalia, MO.
Cindy was employed in the medical field, until she found her niche working with people who have developmental challenges. She was employed as a Community Support Worker at Ewing Vocational Center for approximately 15 years and also worked as a house manager for one of the apartment programs.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jessica Kisner and Jenna Sims, of the Kansas City area; five grandchildren, Joshua, Rhianna, and Sabrina Kisner, and Tatiana Brooks and Elijah Frazier. She was affectionately referred to as ‘Grandma LuLu’. She is also survived by a brother, Dennis Delph of Otterville, MO and his family.
She was preceded in death by both parents.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held at Burns Freewill Chapel on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 3:30 PM. Friends are asked to call on the family at that time. There will be no graveside service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family in care of the Alexander-May Funeral Home in Sedalia, MO

Angela “Baby” Cheatom, 43, of Columbia, surrendered her soul to Christ on Monday, April 5, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm Tuesday.
Angela was born October 13, 1966 in Columbia, the daughter of Frank Cheatom and Carrie Galbreath Cheatom. Angela enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, listening to music and dancing. She also enjoyed traveling to Kansas City to see Milo. She especially loved all of her nieces and nephews.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory three sons Malcom Cheatom of Moberly, Mo., Alfred and Darien Cheatom both of Columbia, two daughters Dejena Cheatom and Saundaya Hopkins both of Columbia, Mo., three brothers Rodney Worley(Kimberly) of Tulsa, OK., Frank Cheatom and Jack Cheatom both of Columbia, Mo., two sisters Teresa Cheatom(Chuck) and Lisa Cheatom(Kenny) both of Columbia, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father Frank Cheatom, one sister and one sister-in-law Kimberly, and her grandparents.

Montie Sanders, 52, of Columbia, answered the call of God and surrendered his soul on Monday, April 5, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Russell Chapel CME Church. Visitation will be from 12-2 Wednesday at the church.
Montie Sanders was born November 7, 1957 in Columbia, the son of Bennie and Virginia Ralph Sanders. He was a member of Russell Chapel CME Church.
Survivors include 2 sisters Leona Martin of Columbia and Virginia Watkins of Dallas, Tx.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Karen Sue Brown, 52, of Columbia, Mo. surrendered her soul to Christ on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 at University of Missouri Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 10, 2010 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Columbia. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.
Karen was born July 26, 1957 in Columbia, the daughter of George Johnson and Mary L. Brown. SHe loved playing softball and riding motorcycles. She was a graduate of Hickman High School in 1975.
Survivors include her parents George Johnson of Des Moines, IA., her mother Mary L. Brown of Columbia, one brother Tracy Brown of Los Angeles, CA., two sisters Sharon Brown of Columbia and Gwen Johnson-Miller of Des Moines, IA. one niece Sierra Brown-King of Columbia, five uncles Willie Brown, Ernest Brown, Floyd Brown, Calvin Hawkins and Gordon Brown Jr., two aunts Norma Hawkins and Maybelle Brown.
