Milton Jackson

Jackson 1Milton Jackson, 63, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Boonville passed into eternity on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at KU Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 4, 2010 at ST. Matthew A.M.E. , burial will be in Boonville Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-1 pm Saturday at the church.

Milton Wayne Jackson, (Jack) was born June 14, 1947 to Virgil Jackson and Millie Quint Jackson in Boonville, MO. Milton joined the heavenly army on November 27, 2010. Milton was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; recently deceased grandson, Michael D. Givens.

 Milton received his general education in Boonville, Mo.  The U.S. Dept of the Army drafted Milton, and he served a two yr. Tour of Duty in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He was a highly decorated soldier with many honors. They are: The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 bronze stars, The Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1 over star bar, Expert in (Rifle M-14) and Good Conduct Medal (1st Award).

 Milton returned to Boonville, MO after proudly serving our country and obtained employment with the Huber Fiberboard Co. for a number of years. In 1976, Milton graduated from K.C. Diesel Truck Driving School. In 1977, he obtained employment at Yellow Freight System Inc. as a dock laborer, and relocated to Kansas City, MO. He received his CDL for City & OTR driving and enjoyed driving “18 wheelers.” He retired after thirty plus years from YRC formerly Yellow Freight Systems Inc.

He united in holy matrimony in August 1972 with Yvonne (Peachie) Jackson at St. Matthews’ Church, where he gave his life to Christ at a very early age and joined the Gospel Choir. Milton leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife of 38 years, Yvonne (Peachie) Jackson, One brother, Herschel Jackson of Raytown, MO, one daughter, Bridgette R. Givens, two sons, Brooke D. Givens, and Bruce D. Jackson (Patricia) of the Greater Metropolitan Kansas City, Mo area. He leaves five grandsons: Colby D. Givens, Anthony L. Baker, Brandis C. Givens, Brayline D. Baker Sr., and Jordan T. Givens; three granddaughters: Delaney C. Jackson, Sydney L. Jackson, and Jazzlyn B. Givens; One great-grandson: Brayline D. Baker Jr., he also leaves a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends.

James “Cool Breeze” Williams

James “Cool Breeze” Williams, 84,  of Columbia passed into eternity on Friday, November 26, 2010 at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs, MO. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-10:45 am Saturday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.

James Roy Williams was  born October 21, 1926 in Boone County the son of Bertha Hill.

Survivors include a son Erin Williams of the state of Louisianna.

LaVelle S. Curd

CurdLaVelle Curd, 87, of Sedalia slept into the arms of Jesus on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Research Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 3, 2010 at Ward’s Memorial Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. John H. Williams officiating, burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 am Friday at the church.

LaVelle S. Curd was born July 9, 1923 in Kansas City, Mo. the daughter of William and Gladys Terrel Shaw.  She attended Dunbar Elementary, North East Junior and she graduated from Sumner High School. She accepted Christ at an early age. Mrs. Curd worked in the medical field for years and she retired from Baptist Medical Center. She was a volunteer for the Buckner Head Start in 1999. Tenacious enough she went on to work for Visiting Nurse’s Association. She was a member of the Ward’s Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to Wilson Curd in Sedalia whom she loved dearly and he preceded her in death. LaVelle was an enormous believer in Love , family and Christ.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Mary Alice(Gene) Quintin Norwood(Tamela) Verdun Norwood and Leon Norwood. She also leaves  25 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sons William Norwood and Jerry Norwood.

Sanya Rae Moon

MoonSanya Rae Moon 43, of Marshall passed into eternity on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will  be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested in care of the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home.

Sanya was born July 7, 1967 in Torrance, CA., the daughter of Dora J. Moon.

Survivors include her mother Doris Butler of Marshall, three daughters  Sha’Tasha Gay, Kendra Polson and Ka”Neeshia Gay, all of Marshall and  one sister Dee Dee Grimes of Marshall and three grandchildren.

Beulah Ralph

Ralph 2Beulah Ralph, 83, of Columbia, entered into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the home of her daughter. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 20, 2010 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.

Beulah Ralph was born on January 31, 1927 in Hardin , Mo. the daughter of Raymond and Daisy Davis. She was a member of the St. Paul A.M.E. Church for many years.

Mrs. Ralph retired after 58 years of service to the Columbia Public School Disctrict.  She was a past Worth Matron of the Amos Johnson #30 O.E.S.

Mrs. Ralph leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Monica Naylor and her husband Tony of Columbia, MO.
