Sharon Kay Crump

CrumpSharon Kay Crump, of Denver, CO., formerly of Boonville  transitioned to be with the Lord after 59  seasons here on earth on March 19, 2011.. Funeral services will be  held at 11:00 am Saturday at St. Matthews AME Church.  Burial in Boonville Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 pm Friday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville.

Sharon Kay Crump was born on June 7, 1951 to Mary Emma Taylor and Clay Cooper in Boonville, Mo. She graduated from Laura Speed Elliott High School in 1969.  She attended Fisk University and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1974 with a degree  in Histology.

She accepted Christ at the age of twelve at Morgan Street Baptist Church. She attended Colorado Community Church in Aurora, CO.

Sharon married her childhood sweetheart CSM Leonard Warren Crump on May 15, 1993. They have two children Leonard Michael Taylor and John Emery Crump.

As a military wife her jobs were varied. She worked as a lab technologist, accountant, book keeper. She was employed by Janus Fund Corp., Woodward-Clyde Environmental Consultants, Productive Data Commercial Solutions, Schlumberger Sena Dalco Industries.

Sharon was very active volunteering with the Komen Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.  Her greatest pleasure was being a staff volunteer for the World Youth Day in 1993.

Sharon was a strong supporter of her husband’s military service. She was the family support from from 1993 to 1996. She received Military unit thanksfrom the Major General Harley Davis ” for a job well done”, following operation Joint Endeavor.

 She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Sharon Crump was a dedicated Christian, a loving wife, Mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband Leonard Warren Crump, two sons Leonard and Clara Taylor, and John(Bambi) Crump, one God-daughter Andrea Tapurin, 2 grandchildren that she cherished with all her heart and soul Emery Michael Taylor and Alexander Warren Taylor, three brothers James(Nerlene)Kelly of Fayette, M., Michael Cooper of Los Angeles,CA.,  and adopted brother Rich(Carita)Wilds of Chicago, IL.,  her sisters Carolyn Villarruel and Mozelle Ballenger both of Columbia, Mo., and Pam Taylor of Boonville, Mo., Terry Williams of St. Louis, Mo., Emma Alford(Kenny) of Temple, TX., Carla Cooper of St. Paul, MN. and a host of Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and friends.

Arementha “Cookie” Brown

Arementha Brown in her 59th season took flight to paradise at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia on Thursday March 10, 2011 . Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. Matthews AME Church.

Arementha was born may 27, 1951 in St. Louis the daughter of Elmer Kennell and Armentha Jones. She was a member of the St. Matthew AME church and she also attended First Missionary Baptist church in Brunswick.

She was married to Robert Brown and he survives.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son Toby Franklin, of Franklin, MO., two daughers Tammy Hull and Rita Franklin both of Franklin, Mo., three brothers David Perry, Larry Roland and Elmer Perry, two sisters Laura Kimble and Phyllis Bigham, and 6 grandchildren.

Mildred “Louise” Miller

Louise Miller 2Mildred ” Louise”  Miller, 41, of  Sedalia, slept into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday,  March 9, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 at  1:00 pm at Alexander-May Funeral Home. Burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Louise Miller was born May 14, 1969 in Sedalia the daughter of Sharon Miller and Newton Foster. She worked for many years at the Ewing Vocational Center.

She leaves to cherish her memory one brother Tony M. Miller of Boonville.

Yinetta Elizabeth Hatton

Hatton Yinetta Elizabeth  Hatton, 54 of Farmington, Mo., formerly of Columbia passed into eternity of Sunday, March 6, 2011 in Farmington. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 15 , 2011 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.   Visitation will be from 12-1 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Yinetta Hatton was born July 23, 1956 in Columbia, the daughter of George Johnson and Lena M. Hatton.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son Darnell Reasonover of Fulton, Mo., three brothers Archie Hatton and George Hatton both of Columbia, Kerry Hatton of Stafford, VA., three sisters Patricia Monroe of Centralia, Mo., Beverly Williams of St. Louis, Mo., and  Helen Mormon of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two daughters.

Betty L. Jennings

jenningsBetty L. Jennings, 93, of Columbia, transitioned into eternity on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Southhampton Place. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, March 11, 2011 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-1 Friday at the funeral home.

Betty L. Jennings was born June 28, 1917 in Columbia the daughter of Charles and Charlotte Redmon Moore. She was a member of the Fifth Street  Christian Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Mary K. Turner of Columbia, two sisters Elizabeth Cochran of Springfield, IL., and Minnie Washington of Columbia, one granddaughter Yolande’ Hatton( Kerry), five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one grandson.

Donald “Cabbage” Harris

harris 1Donald E.  ”Cabbage” Harris, 55, of Fayette, passed into eternity on March 3, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Linn Memorial Methodist Church in Fayette. Visitation will be from 10-12 pm Saturday at the church.

Donald E. Harris was born to Betty J.  Harris and George Robert Cross  on June 3, 1955 in Fayette, Mo.

He attended Lincoln  Elementary School and Fayette High School. He joined Second Baptist Church in Fayette.

Donald loved being himself and creating an atmosphere of acceptance for all. He was a general handyman.

Donald was preceded in death by his father George Cross, his sister Carolyn Harris and two brothers Harold Lee and George Edwards.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Betty J. Harris, special friend  Jeanie Babboni, eight brothers Charles Harris of Fayette, Darrell Harris(Novella) Ullin, IL., James Edwards, Chest, VA., Michael Edwards, William Edwards, Robert Edwards and Tracy Edwards all of Columbia, J.P. Stemmons of Moberly, four sisters Vanessa Smith of Columbia, Tammy Harris of Fayette, Tawanda Edwards of Jefferson City, Mo., and Carri Williams of Kansas City, Mo.,  three daughters Kamyra “Star Kemp, Durrender(Raymond) Sanders and Tiffany Mechum,  three sons  Ari Harris, Julian Jackman and Gus Kemp, seven grandchildren Lashayla Korte, Amari Harris, Cordell Jackson, Darrius Robinson, Darriana Wilson, Charles Roth and Raymond Sanders Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
