Charles H. Carter

Charles H. Carter, 75, of Columbia answered the call of Jesus on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Columbia Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 1, 2011  at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Tuesday at the funeral home.

Charles H. Carter was born November 2, 1935 in Columbia the son of Lawrence and Nettie Carter.  He was a 1954 graduate from Douglass High School. He received his associate degree from college. Charles also held a barber’s license. In Charle’s later years he donated much of his time to the Salvation Army.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory  two daughters, one son and one step-son, Chandra Carter-Mialor of Minneapolis, MN, Kimberly Carter and Lawrence C. Carter and Reginald Flowers all of Kansas City, Mo., 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a host of other family members and friends.

Aldonia Lee

Aldonia Lee, 89, of Columbia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Boone Hospital Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10-11 Am Tuesday at the funeral home.

Aldonia Lee was born August 12, 1922 the daughter of Ambrose Jones and Julia Benson.

 She was a member of St. Paul AME Church and also the Sepia Dames.

 Survivors include two sons Ronald Mitchell and Henderson Lee  both of Columbia, 5 daughters Ronda Lee and Rhoda McKee both of Columbia, Radalette Lee of Kansas City, Mo., Niambia Oginga of Denver, CO., and Rose Mitchell of the state of California and a host of grandchildren.

Silverine I. Sullivan

Silverine I. Sullivan, 81, of Boonville entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 14, 2011 at California Care Center in California, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville. Burial in Clark’s Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 Wednesday at the funeral home.

Silverine was born March 22, 1930 in Tiff, Mo. the daughter of Joseph and Sadie Brown Murphy. She was married to Donnell Sullivan and he preceded her in death in 1989. She was a faithful and loyal member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Clark’s Fork, Missouri until her health began to decline.

She leaves to cherish her memory her brother Carl Murphy of Tiff, Missouri.

Eric Oneal Criss

Eric Oneal Criss, 46 of Columbia answered the call of Jesus on Monday, October 10, 2011 in Wentzville, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. MO.  Visitation will be from 11-12 Saturday at the church.

Eric was born October 5, 1965 in Columbia the son of  Bobbie Cox Criss .  He was a member of the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Bobbie Coleman and his step-father Rev. George Coleman of Columbia , a step-son Kendrick L. Williams of Kansas City, Mo.,  two brothers Dwayne Cox and Rev. Michael(Cathy) Cox of Columbia, four step-brothers George Coleman Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., Gordon Coleman(Terry Lynn) and Gary Coleman(Terry) both of Jefferson City, Mo., and Jordan Coleman of Hawaii, two step-sisters Gina Edwards(Terry) of Columbia and Ginger Robinson(Benjamin) of Florida.

Elvy Moore

Elvy Moore, 69, of Columbia entered into eternity on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Columbia Health Care.  Visitation will be held from 12-2 PM Saturday, October 15, 2011 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.

Elvy W. Moore was born September 22, 1942 in Wardell, Mo. the son of Eli and Idella Moore. He was employed for Cooper Welding as a truck driver.

He leaves to cherish his memory six sons Byron Allen, Anthony Sharp, Sean Allen, Derrick Sharp,  and Myron Sharp all of Columbia and Elvy Mcgaughy of Homestown, Mo., five daughters Latonya Sharp, Sharhonda Allen, Lashonda Wallace, Melissa Allen and Lamika Allen all of Columbia, and 30 grandchildren.

Barbara Jackson

Barbara Jean Wright Jackson, 74, of Sedalia answered the call of Jesus on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church in Sedalia, Mo., burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM Saturday at the church.

Barbara was born August 13, 1937 in Speed, Mo. the daughter of Clarence and Mary Wright. She attended Bunceton High School. On February 20, 1960 she united in marriage to Emmett jackson III. She was a longtime member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church where she served as a Stewardess of the church until her health began to fail her. She loved listening to and singing good old church music. She always said she had to sing quietly so as not to bother anyone.

Barbara Jean never met a stranger, if you smiled at her that was the beginning of a conversation for her. She loved fishing in her earlier years and when the creek bank became too much for her, the interest went to BINGO!

For many years she did babysitting in her home, after that she became employed as a Nursr Aide at Burt Manor Nursing home until it closed, then joined the staff at Buena Vista Nursing Home. Later she worked as a cook at Minniolia Day Nursery until she retired.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Emmett Jackson III of the home, three children Mary Francis Harris of Denver, CO., Donna Jean Jackson and Emmett Jackson IV both of Sedalia, Mo., five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four sisters Betty Starks(Charles) of Springfield, IL.,  Georgia Maupins of Tipton, Mo., Marly L. Wright of Boonville, MO., and Margaret Ann Wright of Lompoc, Ca., one brother Richard Wright of Columbia, MO., and a host of loving nieces which include her niece Tina (LA)Boggess whom she helped raise, nephews, cousins , the girls next door , a God given sister Cassandra Johnson and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Dorothy Ware, five brothers Clarence(Pete) Jr., James, Donald, Melvin and Harold Wright.

Immediately following burial , a repast will be held at Burns Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
