Thelma Moore, of Fayette, Mo. slept into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 23, 2012 at University of Missouri Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February4, 2012 at Holy Ground Christian Tabernacle. Burial will be in the Fayette City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-1 Saturday at the church.
Thelma Moore was born November 16, 1919 in Colorado the daughter of John Howard and Myrtle Cook. She was a member of Holy Ground Christian Tabernacle where she was the mother of the church.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Geraldine Paige of Fayette, nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
Darron Williams

Darron Williams ,38, of Columbia entered into rest on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 28, 2012 at HT May & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12-2pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Darron was born on March 8, 1973 in Columbia, MO to Donna Green. At the age of six years old, he was blessed with Mary Williams who became a mother figure in his life.
Darron was a 1991 graduate of Rockbridge High School. During his high School career, he was a member of the Bruins football team.
Darron was employed with Collins and Aikman for 7 ½ years and with David Mast Construction for 4 years. While working for David Mast Construction, Darron developed a close friendship with David Mast, Matt Pigg, and Henry Bruton.
On July 22, 2000, he was united in marriage to Alicia Kelly. In this union, two children were born, Darron Lee, Jr. and Debrion. He also leaves one step- daughter, JaMeecia Kelly, two grand-children, Darieona Kelly and JayBrielle Dudley of Columbia, MO. He also leaves to cherish his memory Trevion Malone and Cordell Allen of Columbia, MO.
Darron also leaves to treasure his memory his mother’s, Donna Green and Mary Williams of Columbia, MO, six brothers, Corey Green (Holly), of Kansas City, MO, Terrance Williams, Josh Williams, Marcee Williams, Cheyenne Williams and Keenan Williams of Columbia, MO., four sisters, Camika Williams, Amie Williams, Nicole Preston, and India Williams of Columbia, MO. One Uncle Alvino Williams, of Columbia; Three aunts, Lisa Allen, Mary Tina Sykes and DeEtta Green of Columbia,MO. He leaves to honor his memory, his Sister in-law, Rhonda (Kenneth) Matthews and Brother in-laws, Ronald Frazier, Edgar Powell and Raydell Powell of Columbia, MO., Bill Powell and Charles Rowden of Kansas City, MO He shared a special relationship with his cousins, Jessie Green, Alvino Williams, and Shayna Preston, Darron also shared a special relationship with his nieces, Kelsiea Kelly, Agedria Kelly, Ajanique Williams and great-niece, Kylley Hayes of Columbia, MO He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Darron was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Lewis and Flora Allen, his Grandmother, Mary Hughes, his Sister-in-law, Deborah Lynn Powell and his Mother and Father-in-law, Lucille and Raydell Powell, Sr.
Darron will be remembered for his tasty barbecue and his love for fishing. Most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and nieces.

Betty Sue Prince Tate, 67, of Columbia answered the call of her heavenly father on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Boone Hospital Center. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Second Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:30-12:30 Tuesday at the church.
Betty Sue Tate was born July 26, 1944 in Columbia, Mo., the daughter of Robert Prince Sr. and Etta Evelyn Sheley.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters Crystal Bradley and Carla Bradley both of Columbia, her mother Etta Carter of Columbia, five brothers, Robert Prince Jr. , Rev. Thomas Carter, Ricky Carter Bryan Carter and Randy Carter all of Columbia, four sisters Mary Evelyn Carter, Helen Tibbs Hatton, Jane Tibbs and Joyce Parker all of Coumbia, 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter James Etta Prince, her husband Basil Tate, her father Robert Prince Sr. , and her grandson Zamairon Burgess.

Clarissa E. ”Dolly” Mason 82, of Lees Summit, formerly of Marshall, entered into eternal rest on Saturday January 21, 2012 at John Knox Village Care Center surrounded by her friends and family. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2012 at St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church in Slater. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-12 Saturday at the church.
Clarissa E. Mason was born on June 1, 1929 in Gilliam, Mo. the daughter of Roger Miller and Sarah Wright Miller. She attended grade school in Gilliam and High School in Dalton, Mo. She was united in marriage to Charley Mason who preceded her in death. She was a member of the St. Paul Free Will Baptist Church where she served on the usher board, and the Mission Department. She was a member of the American Legion Dept. for many years. She is a member of the Gertrude Madison Chapter #105 of the O.E.S. and the the Court of Cyrenes. Clarissa was employed at the Marshall Rehabilitation Center for over 37 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters Sarah Roseby of Kansas City, Mo., and Alica (Delroy) Brown of Marshall, Mo. three sons Jeff Mason(Mary) of Augusta, GA., Gary Mason of of St. Louis, Mo., and Wendell Mason of Marshall, one brother Raymond Jackson of Milton , Fl., and one foster sister Mildred Willis of Kansas City, Mo., and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters Evelyn Thompson and Geraldine Lunsford and one devoted sister-in-law Beatrice Huston.

Mary L. Scott, 67, of Sweet Spring, Mo., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 14, 2012.
Funeral Services are being held Friday, January 20th at 12:00pm at Sweet Springs Assembly of God Church in Sweet Springs, MO; Visitation will be from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Marshall, MO.
Mary Scott was born on August 26th, 1944 in Jennings, FL to the late Rev. John H Rich and Vernell Rich. In 1945, she moved to Malta bend, MO then later moved to Sweet Springs, MO and Graduated High School in 1962.
She was a member of Yokum Chapel A.M.E Church in Malta Bend for many years serving on the Women’s Missionary Society and as the church secretary. She was currently attending Sweet Springs Assembly of God Church.
She was very dedicated to the Sweet Springs Optimist Club and was one of the founders; serving many years on the board and helping earn distinguished club of the year during one of her presidencies.
She carried a love for softball and was a coach for 30 years. She also enjoyed her work at Tyson Foods, in Concordia, MO for 15 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother Vernell Rich of Sweet Springs, MO; one son Larry Scott of Sedalia, MO, and one daughter Tiffany Scott of Sweet Springs, MO. She also leaves three grandchildren Gino, Trey, and Breanna; one sister Anna Kemp of Columbia, MO; three brothers, George Rich of Sweet Springs, Lonnie Rich Sr. of Jefferson City, and John Rich Jr. of Sweet Springs; and also many other loving family members and faithful friends.

Jewell Hayes Bentley , 66, of Columbia, passed into life eternal on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at her home surrounded by her friends and family
Funeral Services are being held Saturday, January 14th at 12:00pm at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbia, MO; Visitation will be from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jewell Hayes Bentley was born September 4th, 1945 in Columbia the daughter of John and Amanda Williams Hayes.
Jewell was a graduate of Douglass High School and worked many years as a housekeeper for hotels and other business around the city.
She is survived by her Sons Tracy Hayes of Columbia and Clarence Bentley of Jefferson City, step-son William Bentley, step-daughters Sandra Bentley, Joann Stevens, and Shirley Ann Griffin of Jefferson City. She is also survived by four brothers Carl “Jack” Hayes of Wichita, KS., and his special friend Geraldine Morris, Clarence(Vonnia) Hayes of Las Vegas, NV., Rev. Edward “Nat” Newbill, 67, of Sedalia passed into eternity on Monday, January 2, 2012 at Sylvia Thompson Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday January 7, 2012 at 1pm at Park View Christian Church in Sedalia, MO Visitation will be from 12-1 at the church; Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery
Nat, as he was affectionately known, was born November 3, 1944 to Vennie Evelyn Burris Newbill and Samuel Newbill. He attended Lincoln Grade School and graduated from Lincoln Hubbard High School in 1962. He married Katherleen Hicks on August 4, 1967, at Quinn Chapel. The two then repeated their vows on March 12, 2006. To this union, three children were born. Nat was a self-employed roofer, owner, and operator of Newbill and Sons Roofing; he also co-owned Unlimited Nite Club and Stick-N-Cue Billiards. He was a city councilman for the city of Sedalia from May 20, 1996 to April 23, 2006, as well as having served on other various city boards. Nat was a landlord, owning several homes throughout the Sedalia area. He sponsored, and occasionally coached, Paul Klover Soccer, Little League Baseball, and adult men and women baseball teams. When his children were young, he held annual end of school and back to school events at Hubbard Park, which included food, games, and entertainment. Nat was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Along with his wife of the household, he leaves to mourn his home going: three sons, Kevin Curd of Detroit, Michigan, Nathaniel Jr. of Sedalia, Missouri, Antoine (Jerica) of Lenexa, Kansas; daughter, Shyra of Overland Park, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Latoya, Antoinio, Chazz, Kyland, Cameron, Kelton, Justyce, Naydia, Ava, and Jayce; mother, Evelyn; two sister, Sharon Cocklin of Sedalia, Missouri, Jean Jones of Shoreview, Minnesota; three brothers, Ira and Kevin Newbill of Sedalia, Missouri, and Gary Newbill of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and mother-in-law, Itha Hicks of Sedalia, Missouri. Nat was preceded in death by: his father, Sam Newbill; paternal grandparents, Samuel and Doe Newbill; maternal grandparents, Archie Sr. and Pansy Burris; uncles, Archie Burris Jr., Nat, Carl, and Walter Newbill; aunt, Ruth Jackson; and sisters, Carmen Goodwin and Joyce Williams.
Our heavenly father calling Nat home from labor to reward his passing reminds us that life is uncertain, but death is sure.

Leonard ” Buddy” Christian, 54, of Independence, Mo. passed into eternity on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at NorthCare Hospice House. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville.
Leonard “Buddy” Christian was born April 12, 1957 in Boonville, the son of Gilbert and Bettie Smith Christian. He was employed by the Richard Johnson Lawncare Company. He was a member of the Highland Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Bettie Christian of Independence, Mo., loving companion Carol Carter and her five daughters Christina Carter, Saekela Carter, Lisa Bland, Marquitta Bland and Mia Coleman, and their children, one son Brandon Perry of Boonville, two daughters Erica Harris and Vanessa Perry both of Columbia, two brothers Melvin Christian and Glenwood Christian both of Boonville, two sisters Diann Jones of Columbia and Carolyn Tyler of Virgina.
He was preceded in death by his father and his sister Cynthia Christian.
