Christine Horrell

Edna Christine Horrell, 98, of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at The South Hampton Place. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Second Missionary Baptist Church 409 Broadway with visitation from 12:00 PM Thursday until time of services at the church. Pastor David Ballenger will officiate. Burial will be at Columbia Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Horrell was born July 27, 1911 In Columbia o Ben and Edna Norman Monroe, the second oldest of thirteen children. In 1930 she married William Hadley Horrell.
Survivors include five children Richard (Minta) Horrell of Denver, Co., Lula(Herbert) Williams of Columbia, Laura(Ronald) Hammond of Goodyear, Az., David (Barbra) Horrell of Columbia, and Florence Pruitt of Chicago, Il., one sister-in-law Joyce Monroe, 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sons, one son-in-law and twelve siblings.

Deepest sympathy to the Horrell family in your loss. I have fond memories of Ms Christine. She and my grandmother Odessa would often go into the country to pick greens taking me along with them.
