I extend my deepest sympathy to all of Clifton’s family and friends. I have known Clifton since 1963, so I guess I met him when he was 37 and I was 18. I worked with him at Ward & Sublett’s Lake of the Woods Shell and never knew him by anything other than the name “Friday.” I put him right up there with some of the greatest people I have ever known. Friday loved life, he was always happy and always smilin’. He always brought a smile to my face just to run into him, as I did, it seems like, only a few months ago and we visited over lunch. Over the last 15 years I have always run into Friday at the Business Loop McDonald’s. We always took the time to have a visit and talk about Columbia and the people we knew. I will miss him deeply and stoppin’ for a coffee at McDonalds will never be the same, as I always thought I might run into my ol’ buddy “Friday” if I stopped there. “Rest in peace, Clifton, I love ya’ man!”

Funeral Pre-Planning

Today more than ever, people are choosing to pre-plan or prepay for their own funeral arrangements. Such planning helps prevent the surviving family members from having to make arrangements on short notice, reduces emotional strain and helps to ensure that the wishes of the deceased will be respected.
