Michael Smith

Michael Smith, 30, of Sedalia, surrendered his soul to Jesus on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. Homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday , April 3, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Sedalia. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2pm Saturday at the church.

Michael was born December 31, 1979 in Minneapolis, MN., the son of Michael Buford and Cheri Smith. He loved weightlifting.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Cheris Smith of Sedalia, and his father Michael Buford of Columbia, one son Jordan Lawson of Sedalia, One daughter Kaidynce Smith of Sedalia,  five brothers Damon Buckner , Terrell Smith, Marcus Buford, Matthew Buford and Michael Baker, four sisters Donease Smith, of Cordova, TN., Tanaeia Smith of Sedalia, Mo.,  Genevieve Buford of Columbia, and Raedawn Buford of Columbia.

    Cheri–when I heard the news, I prayed that it wasn’t Mike. I’m never very good at saying the right words, whatever they might be. But I’m heartbroken for you and your family. I am not able to attend the services, but I will be there in spirit. Take care.

    Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear of Mike Mike’s passing. I will always remember him as the kid cutting up on the church bus or in my mom’s headstart class. I am praying that all of you will heal from this in time and know that God is holding your hand to help you make it through this storm.
